Devon Reiffer (they/them) is a queer multidisciplinary artist whose work centres visibility, healing, and advocacy for LGBTQ+ communities. Since earning an MFA from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in 2014, Reiffer has developed a practice that connects personal experience with social change through layered charcoal and gesso on canvas.
After relocating to Long Beach, California, in 2022, Reiffer continued to deepen a visual language rooted in vulnerability, growth, and queer resilience. Their work shares queer stories while emphasising the life-affirming importance of representation. Each piece becomes a declaration of presence: a reminder that taking up space can be both difficult and powerful. Reiffer creates the representation they did not have growing up. Through intimate, emotionally direct imagery, their work affirms that queer people deserve to be seen, heard, loved, and free.
