He/ Him
Will Encarnación is a Dominican-Canarian artist and educator whose work explores identity, race, and migration through expressive painting. Born in Azua, Dominican Republic, he is now based in Madrid, Spain.
His artistic approach challenges traditional representation, using the human body as a site of transformation. Through impasto, glazes, and washes, he distorts and exaggerates form, color, and texture, creating dynamic compositions that question social norms and the fluidity of identity. Deeply committed to art as a tool for dialogue and change, Will merges his creative practice with education, fostering conversations about queerness, multiculturalism, and belonging. His work invites viewers to reflect on personal and collective narratives, redefining the boundaries of representation and self-expression.
