He/ Him
Zach Steinkamp is a queer artist and writer based in the United States whose multidisciplinary practice connects visual art and literature. With a BA in English and Art, he uses both disciplines to explore the layered complexities of queer identity. His work focuses on the body as both subject and form. Through bold color, expressive gesture, and fragmented figures, Steinkamp challenges traditional representation, presenting queerness as fluid and multifaceted.
Materiality is central to his practice. Lace and delicate textiles appear throughout his work, symbolizing softness, sensuality, and vulnerability. By juxtaposing these materials with themes of exposure and emotional tension, Steinkamp highlights queer embodiment as intimate, fragile, and resilient at once.
