Chrome Pulse

Chrome Pulse presents a powerful reimagining of the queer body as a living conduit of energy, desire, and technological evolution. Cast in metallic chrome and pierced by glowing red cables, the figure stands both heroic and vulnerable—caught between control and surrender, machinery and flesh. Versteeg transforms the body into a charged sculpture, where wires act as extensions of emotion, sensation, and identity.

The work explores the tension between intimacy and industrial aesthetics, questioning how queer bodies are shaped, empowered, or constrained by the systems surrounding them. Through stylized lighting, performative composition, and meticulously constructed props, Chrome Pulse pushes the boundary between human and post-human, celebrating the resilience and transformative potential of queer embodiment.
