Laced Body
Laced Body (2025) by Zach Steinkamp is a mixed media work on wooden panel that merges photographic imagery with delicate textile elements. Framed by lace, the exposed torso becomes both intimate and mediated—suggesting tenderness, desire, and the fragility of queer embodiment. The contrast between denim, skin, and ornamental fabric creates a quiet tension between strength and softness, concealment and revelation. As in much of Steinkamp’s practice, materiality becomes symbolic, inviting reflection on how identity is framed, adorned, and continuously constructed.
