Narcissus Screenprint
Narcissus Screenprint (2024) is part of ego andaluz’s exploration of the tension between classical beauty and digital artificiality. The work begins with AI-generated bodies—hyper-smooth, immaculate, and devoid of human presence. Through a process of cutting, re-lighting, digital reconstruction, and finally screenprinting, the artist reclaims these figures from their sterile origins.
Screenprint becomes an act of resistance: neon tones, halftone patterns, and the tactile grain of ink transform a digital phantom into something embodied. The physical imperfections—those tiny traces of pressure, ink, and texture—restore what AI erases: touch, labor, and intention.
This first series presents full statues, removed from mythology and context, reimagined as luminous, artificial gods. Detached yet iconic, they question what beauty becomes when filtered through technology, queer gaze, and printmaking.
