Narcissus

Narcissus

Narcissus, from the series Spotlight Studies, examines the act of seeing oneself within a culture built on exposure and self-display. Stripped of narrative surroundings, the figure folds inward, caught in a moment of self-observation that is neither vanity nor longing, but a quiet loop of introspection.

The linocut’s bold contrast and minimal composition transform the body into both icon and mirror—an image aware of its own circulation. Here, Narcissus is not consumed by reflection but sustained by it, embodying a queer meditation on identity, self-fashioning, and the tension between visibility and inner life.
