The Chimerical Moon is a narrative multimedia work that explores the marginalisation and persecution experienced by queer people. Through marionette performance, video, collage, and digital imagery, Aidan Dawson constructs a dreamlike world in which identity appears both carefully assembled and vulnerable to the pressures imposed by society.

The work follows a character whose most desired dreams remain out of reach because of prejudice and homophobia. Combining modernist collage with contemporary internet aesthetics, Dawson presents fantasy as both refuge and resistance, revealing how queer lives are shaped by the tension between imagination, self-creation, and social exclusion.
