After Dark. Speed of Life
After Dark. Speed of Life embodies the tension between spiritual longing and queer identity through a dense and emotionally charged collage. At its centre, the artist’s self-portrait, cut from the Ukrainian queer newspaper NEVERMIND, is stylized as an image of suffering, suggesting vulnerability, sacrifice and inner conflict. Around it, figures such as Mick Jagger, Jake Shears and Zombie Boy form a pantheon of liberated, non-conformist selves. Through its layered visual language, the work explores desire, rebellion and the search for meaning, presenting queer identity as both a site of struggle and a powerful force of self-creation.
