pink is for girls, blue is for boys

pink is for girls, blue is for boys

pink is for girls, blue is for boys responds to the gendered rules imposed on toys, clothing and everyday life from an early age. Through a woven paper collage structure and a monochrome blue palette, the work reflects the way marketing divides the world into categories for boys and girls while leaving little space for non-binary and intersex identities. By fragmenting and reassembling familiar visual references, the piece rejects the idea that clothes, objects or forms of self-expression belong to one gender alone. Instead, it asserts a more open vision of identity in which clothing and personal style exist beyond rigid binary expectations.
