layer 1

layer 1

layer 1 explores how an image can be concealed, repeated, and transformed through material depth. Dario Mohr places an oil painting behind a glass wall block, where refraction breaks the figure into shifting fragments and turns visibility into an unstable experience.

Illuminated from within and sealed with wax, the work moves between painting, sculpture, and light installation. Presented in the solo exhibition Ensconced, it reflects on protection, enclosure, memory, and the difficulty of fully accessing what lies beneath the surface.
