Self-Portrait
In this nude self-portrait, Palcik turns sustained observation into an act of intimacy. The body—familiar yet rarely studied for hours at a time—becomes a landscape of age, vulnerability and recognition. Painting allows her to remain with her own physical presence without correction or distance, transforming the studio encounter into a declaration of affection: for the body, for the slow process of looking, and for women.
