The Old Me
The Old Me turns a personal archive into a meditation on queer visibility, memory and self-recognition. Revisiting an image of a younger body from before coming out, Bara Palcik overlays nostalgia with vivid colour and multiplied gesture. Repeated torsos and hands move between concealment and disclosure, tracing how identity can already be present before it is named. The work looks back without sentimentality, treating the past self as both stranger and witness.
