Up transforms painted canvas into a suspended relief of body, ribbon and open space. The figure raises its hands as black and gold strips curl across and beyond the frame, evoking ascent, surrender and release. Because the surface is cut and manipulated, the body seems to emerge from the image while remaining bound to it. The work holds empowerment and vulnerability in tension, presenting transformation as both physical struggle and self-affirmation.
