Fine art photographer in Atlanta
Will M Nichols is an Atlanta-based fine art photographer working across digital image-making, alternative print processes and self-portraiture. Currently completing an MFA at the Savannah College of Art and Design, he examines how queer identity is framed, permitted and censored within institutional art spaces. Drawing on portrait theory, queer literature and art history, Nichols creates psychologically charged images in which the body becomes a site of shame, resistance and self-authored visibility. His work asks who is allowed to appear, on whose terms, and what liberation might look like beyond those conditions. One of his cyanotypes is held in the permanent collection of Queer Gallery, Amsterdam. His work has also been recognised by the Annual Photo Awards and featured in Sensitive Content.
