Anti-Colonial Pride
Anti-Colonial Pride challenges the colonial structures that continue to shape whose identities, histories and bodies are centred within LGBTQIA+ spaces. Created as part of an imagined campaign for Barcelona Pride, the illustration places an anti-colonial queer perspective at the centre, insisting that Pride must also confront systems of power, displacement and exclusion. Through a simple yet pointed visual language, the work connects queer liberation with broader struggles for justice, memory and self-determination. It argues that there is no real Pride without intersectionality, and no intersectionality without an anti-colonial perspective.
