Quierodio
Quierodio explores the emotional contradiction that can exist within intimate relationships, where love, desire, anger and resentment are not always opposing forces but feelings capable of occupying the same space. Two men embrace in bed in a moment that appears tender and intimate, yet the title — merging the Spanish words “quiero” (I love/want) and “odio” (I hate) — introduces an underlying emotional tension. The work reflects on relationships in which affection and conflict become inseparable, capturing the fragile boundary between needing someone, desiring them and resenting them. Rather than presenting intimacy as something idealised, Quierodio exposes its contradictions, vulnerability and emotional complexity.
